A Pesar De Todo is the first full-length album by Supersilverhaze. And lengthier was the time it took this long awaited LP to finally see the light of day. The title (Despite Everything) refers to the year and a half it took to complete the album, from the writing process to being satisfied with the mix - a period in which the band members lived through experiences that gave a very personal and introspective shape to the final result. Uncertainty, change, illness and death... and despite everything, it was achieved.

For this album, the band decided to leave behind their preconceived ideas of what was possible as a trio format. The premise was to unleash all their creative impulses in order to come up with great arrangements that were very different from what they had done before. They adopted new influences such as Stereolab, Broadcast, Vanishing Twin, Beak>, Wand, Juana Molina, among many others. The songwriting sessions began in mid 2020, but after a loss, it wasn't until June 2021 that Supersilverhaze went into Hugo Quezada's Progreso Nacional to start recording with his arsenal of analogue synths and boutique guitars, basses, drums and pedals.

For 4 months Patricio, Diego and Roy went to the studio, sometimes together, sometimes in pairs and sometimes alone. Between them and Hugo there were cases of COVID, tooth problems and one more painful loss. However, during those 4 months, the studio was a safe space for the band, where they were able to explore their musical itches, amidst laughter and gossip, and forget the difficult episodes that awaited them outside the doors of Progreso Nacional. They also had the pleasure to collaborate with the talents of guest musicians such as percussionist Cuauhtémoc Rivera and saxophonist María Giménez-Cacho.

As they progressed, the concept of the album became evident. Forward-looking and optimistic, A Pesar De Todo offers a hopeful, if at times melancholic, vision of life and temporality; remarkable for something written during a pandemic marked by frustration and personal loss. It is in this quest, considering the twin concepts of death and renewal, that Supersilverhaze have nimbly reinvented themselves once again.
